The 25-year-old ripped a TV off the wall, hit his victim around the head with a speaker, and choked her until she passed out
A sick rapist subjected a teen to a string of brutal hotel room sex attacks – and even filmed the girl cleaning up her own blood.
Agampodi Dezoysa also boasted he was a serial killer in a “delusional” web of lies he told to keep his victim in fear.
The 25-year-old “latched on” to his victim after meeting her at a party and spent the following month subjecting her to a campaign of psychological, sexual and physical abuse, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The former Manchester Metropolitan University student has now been jailed for a lengthy period – and faces deportation after serving his sentence.
Manchester Crown Court heard that after first meeting the girl, Dezoysa showered her and her friends with gifts.
He then began to control and manipulate her and claimed his father was the wealthy chairman of an oil company with properties in Los Angeles, London and Warrington.
He claimed to have killed 37 people – saying he “strangled a woman and snapped her neck because she had shot his grandmother.”
Boasting of having bodyguards, he claimed to be under the protection of British security services so “the police couldn’t go anywhere near him”.
He has since been diagnosed with a personality disorder. Sentencing, Judge Martin Rudland said the “delusional landscape” he created “would have been very frightening” for a girl of her age.
The court heard he raped the woman four times – the first occurring in a Manchester hotel after he booked a two night stay.
Ten days later he raped the victim twice at another hotel in the city, despite her refusing when he “pestered her for sex”.
Dezoysa used “emotional blackmail” and tried to “brainwash” her into hating her family during their association, on one occasion sending abusive messages to the girl’s aunt from her phone, pretending to be her, the court heard.
She was raped a fourth time in November 2016 at another hotel in Liverpool.
He was eventually arrested after becoming “paranoid” following a drinking session in Manchester and beat her up and trashed the hotel room they had been staying in.
After returning to the hotel, he ordered the girl to strip naked and began punching and kicking her in the face when she was on the floor.
He then ripped a TV off the wall, hit her around the head with a speaker, and choked her until she passed out.
He then forced to clean up the mess, including her own blood, filming it on his mobile phone before falling asleep, prosecutor Frank Dillon added.
At that point, the victim escaped and manage to raise the alarm and Dezoysa was later arrested at the hotel room.
The victim needed hospital treatment for her injuries and contracted a sexually-transmitted infection from Dezoysa as a result of the sex attacks.
Dezoysa, of Brent, North London, pleaded guilty to four counts of rape, assault causing grievous bodily harm, and criminal damage at earlier hearings.
He initially denied the sexual allegations but admitted them on the day his trial was due to begin.
Adrian Farrow, defending, said: “The psychiatric report explains, but of course does not excuse, much of his behaviour.
“He does not accept the diagnosis but will have to learn to live with it.”
Dezoysa was labelled a “predatory” sex offender and a danger to society as he was given a prison sentence of 12 years, with an extended licence period of five years, which means he is at risk of being recalled to jail until 2035.
Judge Martin Rudland said: “It may well be that she (your victim) was attracted to the way you presented yourself.
“But it soon became clear you could control, and to a degree manipulate her so you could prey on her sexually, which you did on a number of occasions, on a sustained basis, at a number of different locations.
“I accept you were clearly suffering from mental illness in the form of a delusional personality disorder with which you have now been diagnosed. But you were also prepared to inflict violence on her.
“If it had not been for that it could well have been that this form of conduct could have continued and she would have been your creature to do your bidding whenever you wanted.
“I consider you a danger and significant risk to the public of serious harm if you are not closely monitored in future.”
He was handed a 12 year jail term and will not be eligible to apply for parole until he has served two thirds of his sentence. A restraining order prevents him from contacting or going near his victim.
Dezoysa will automatically be deported to Sri Lanka after his sentence due to the seriousness of his crimes.
